The GT team just got a little more well-rounded and way more awesome with the addition of the one and only Tate Roskelley. Tate wrapped up 2018 with one of the most creative BMX video parts of recent years in our new video Headlights, and we can’t wait to see what he’s got in store for 2019 with the GT BMX squad. And speaking of the squad, here’s some words from some of the GT dudes and the man himself, Tate…

"It's been an exciting year for me. From exploring new ideas, finding new audiences and finishing my latest full-length video section, 2018 was one of the most fun years in recent memory. All the hard work, solo parking garage sessions, and mental challenges of trying to be "creative", have brought about some great opportunities—one of those opportunities I'm most excited about is joining the GT BMX team! Believe me, I don't take this opportunity lightly. It's inspiring to think of all the past GT BMX pros who have all shaped BMX into what it is today. Let's not forget about the current GT BMX team either—I'm honored to be accepted with the current crew of uniquely skilled and styled riders that carry that torch today. It's no wonder GT has stood the test of time. I've always put the art and freestyle spirit first and foremost into my riding and I would like to thank everyone involved for recognizing that. If you've ever watched a video part of mine, been inspired, or even got a laugh out of my riding, thank you. I hope you're excited to see a new chapter of my riding made possible with the support of GT bikes! This is going to be fun." —Tate Roskelley

"Nice! The SLC is known for producing riders with their own unique styles—Elf, Aitken, Wise, and Thompson… The whole 5050 crew, really. Tate is definitely in his own world of BMX and you gotta respect that. It's gonna be fun to see this dude in action. I have a feeling I'm gonna lose a lot of dollars to him!" —Dan Conway

"Tate is one of those riders that makes you think outside the box, the ramp, the rail, the ledge and more. Tate's talent spans beyond his skills on a bike and reaches deep into his imaginative talent of exploring new challenges you can accomplish on a BMX bike. A native of the legendary Utah BMX scene, Tate has been surrounded by and influenced by some of the most creative, raw talent BMX has ever seen. Rather than imitate, Tate utilized that great influence to create a riding style that puts him in a league of his own. When you watch Tate you're watching creative vision and action at its finest. No limits to imagination, just pure BMX Freestyle." —Brian Kachinsky

"I've been a fan of Tate's riding for as long as I can remember. I love his out of, sometimes on, through or back in a box approach to riding. Tate's part in the new Ride BMX Headlights video is straight up unreal and shows that he continues to push the limits of freestyle in video after video. He is constantly exposing people to BMX in a positive light and is riding is appreciated by BMX and non-BMX masses alike. We're stoked to have him join the GT family and can't wait to start creating!" —Ben Ward, GT BMX
