“On May 20th, 2011 I will be departing Zimmerman, MN to pedal my road bike to Anchorage, AK; to raise money for cancer research, to honor my father and all those who have been affected by cancer. My goal is to raise $10,000 for the Randy Shaver Cancer Research and Community Fund. More information at minnesota2alaska.blogspot.com
“Pedaling For Pennies has grown to a size that I would have never thought, so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to start back up my Bikes For Tykes program. From today through May 1st I will be collecting new and used bikes for area families' that could not otherwise afford them. My goal will be 25 bikes that I will donate to the Zimmerman community the day I depart for Alaska.
“When I first started this fundraiser my goal was $5,000 within the first couple hours of releasing the information I surpassed that goal in pledges to almost $11,000. So this got me thinking on how big this could really be. With such a big response in a short time i will be jumping at the opportunity to make this the biggest fundraiser I can. Thank you.”
