Press Release:

Victor Salazar Earns Last Slot into Finals This Weekend in Portland, Ore.

Burr Ridge, Ill. – August 8, 2011 – The Gatorade Free Flow Tour finished the BMX dirt season on Saturday at 12th Street Jumps in Ogden, Utah. Showing up for the win was park Finalist Victor Salazar, who became a crossover Finalist with the dirt win this past weekend. Topping a handful of notable competitors from seasons past, Salazar will make the trip to Portland this week for his debut in the Gatorade Free Flow Tour Finals, taking place in conjunction with the Dew Tour Portland Invitational, August 11-14.

Nineteen-year-old Salazar from Fountain Valley, Calif. threw down a final run that included a 360 double whip and a 360 no hander transfer. Coming in a close second was seventeen-year-old Luke Bowerman hailing from Australia, another crossover competitor who will also be attending the BMX park Finals. Taking third was local eighteen-year-old Colby Sprat from Draper, Utah.

"I can't wait to hit the big jumps on the Dew Tour course," said Salazar. Salazar will head to Portland to compete in the Finals for both BMX park and BMX dirt after earning his spot at Da Compound in Perris, Calif. earlier this season.

Salazar, Bowerman and, Sprat earn an automatic bid to the Gatorade Free Flow Tour Finals, as the discipline advances the top three riders from each contest to the Finals. The Finals will take place in conjunction with the Dew Tour's Portland Invitational this week, August 11-14. Overall Champions earn a prequalified spot in the 2011 Dew Tour Championship, held in Las Vegas this October.
