If you missed the news in our X Games coverage, Van Homan went down in Street practice last Thursday while attempting to air from the right “broken coffee cup” tranny to the far left tranny on the X Games Street course. After misjudging the transfer, Van jumped off in the air, got turned around backwards, and hit his head after hitting the ground. Van didn’t have a helmet on and suffered a fractured skull, and some bleeding/bruising on his brain, and ended up in the ICU for a few days. On Monday Van was moved out of the ICU and into a regular room. The latest good news is that he was told he may be discharged today (Thursday). Since he’s not allowed to fly for a number of weeks, Van will be driving back to New Jersey with his wife and mother in-law some time this weekend.

Van’s obviously in a lot of pain and discomfort from the injury, but he’s been up and about, walking around, his spirits are high, and he’s looking and feeling better every day. At the rate he’s healing, we’re sure he’ll be back to normal soon.

Feel free to leave some “get well” wishes for Van in the comments section below.
