Well, it happened again. Jamie Bestwick once again proved that he was the best vert rider in the world. But, the story isn’t the same as the ones in the past. Today was rough in vert. Mykell Larrin took an insanely rough fall on a 540 double whip attempt and Simon Tabron took not one, but two falls on 900’s…the first one was rough, but the second one was even worse. Vince Byron was nipping at Jamie’s score, pulling a perfect 540 double whip in his first run only to find out it was a few seconds after the buzzer and wouldn’t be counted. Vince gave it two more attempts to put together the same exact run within the time limit, but it just didn’t happen. And just like many times before, Jamie sat at the top of the leader board with one victory run to go. But it was far from a victory run; Jamie went in, getting the highest score of the day with his normal barrage of flair down whips, alley oop and inverted 5’s, downside whips to turndowns, and then he banged out his first ever flip flair. It may also be the best and highest front flip flair ever done, too. The vibe was dope, Jamie was beyond hyped, and a few minutes later he was handed his ninth consecutive Dew Cup. Undefeated.
