Inaki Mazza is only 16 years old and already makes us think of a young Kevin Peraza. At ease on all terrains, always smiling, funny, and open-minded. The young Argentinian does not stop traveling thanks to Vans and Redbull putting him under their wing, a sign that does not deceive. He’s got a bright future ahead of him if he sticks to his guns. This welcome edit was filmed in a little less than a week in the south of Europe. Read below for a brief history of Superstar BMX (written by Superstar BMX), the brand that has been around for over a decade and continues to support dudes like Alex Nikulin and Inaki. – Superstar BMX
The New Chapter
“Born in 2002 in France, Superstar met its first successes with the nicely designed Elect stem, followed closely by the Pimp sprockets (back in the new collection) then the famous frames New Deal and Light My Fire; successes to be attributed to Julien Leyreloup, the new handyman of the brand….
Between 2004 and 2010, Superstar sees a period of innovation thanks to Julian: “D-shape frame bases (D-shape), Strawberry saddle tightening of New Deal frame, brake cable passage in the saddle tube, the Micropegs, even prototypes never released, such as the 2-piece crankset with half-axis “.
With a well-identified style of pegless street riders, the brand develops its influence throughout the world; most riders recognize in Superstar a certain French touch as here in the series “not for sale”. Classy, stylish and technical, Superstar lives its finest years. We obviously remember videos of Antony Lille, one of the most creative and committed riders of his generation. Antony greatly participated in the popularization of the brand, especially in England where they join the movement of new guys such as Tom Blyth from the famous crew of Sheffield (see "Voices" one of the indie videos that had a heavy influence on the street scene…).
A little later it is in Russia that Superstar is having a particular booming expansion despite Julien Leyreloup leaving to create his own cycles handicraft company. The new TM chooses Maxime Bonfil who will produce some beautiful pictures with Vincent Perraud during a trip with Jared Chilko, Arnaud Malthieu and more. Remember this magical Soul cover with him in the Algorta bowl.
We are in 2013 and Superstar produces all parts on a bmx, has 40 distributing and focusing more and more towards ramps riding with a team from all over the world : Luke Padgett in England, Kostya Andreev in Russia and Costa Rican Kenneth Tencio to name a few. Despite looking good on the outside, the brand seems to wink, as in lack of gasoline. Med, the main owner finally decided to sell the brand to a new investor last year. After a big year of latency, SUPERSTAR returns today with a humble and ambitious program. Starting from scratch with the VEGA line, some well-made parts (pedal, handlebar, fork, pegs and crowns made in europe) and two very good riders :

Alex Nikulin is also on excellent tracks. A little older, very popular on social media, the dude seriously stomps some of the most insane front flip variations. But he is not only a contest machine and his fast, aerial and committed style also fits well with the brand that continues to observe and look for future riders who will stick to the project. Criteria : aerial, fast and radical riding. When the tricks and style decide to mix for a timeless bmx. Promising. And now happening mainly on social media to see and know more about Superstar BMX’s new chapter. @SUPERSTARBMX #SPRSTRBMX #TAKESOMEAIR ” – Superstar BMX
